Sicilian Roadtrip

Three close friends on a Sicialian Roadtrip.

A few summers ago, my close friends Choucri, Gautier, and I found ourselves travelling through Sicily and the Aeolian Islands, moving slowly between Lipari, Filicudi, winding coastal roads, and long hikes overlooking the sea.
The days unfolded naturally.Morning coffees in small ports before ferries departed. Dusty walks under the Sicilian sun. Swimming in quiet coves. Long conversations that stretched into the evening. Sometimes silence, too.
We carried very little with us.
Light shirts softened by the sea air. Linen pieces wrinkled from wear. Cameras tossed into bags. Salt on the skin after swimming. The kind of clothing that begins to feel better as the days pass.
What I remember most is the feeling of slowness. No urgency to arrive anywhere. No real separation between travel, friendship, and rest.

The landscapes almost felt unreal at times. Dry volcanic hills falling directly into endless blue water.
Wild grasses moving in the wind. Sailboats disappearing into the horizon. The islands carrying that particular stillness that only exists in places surrounded entirely by sea.
These photographs were never intended as a campaign. More as fragments from a period of time we wanted to hold onto.
They feel deeply connected to what Tom Àdam has always quietly been about: comfort shaped through experience, friendship, movement, and memory.
Not simply garments, but objects lived in.
